Case Histories

Bouncer

Bouncer was a 10 year old show jumper when I first met him. He had been variably lame on his right hind limb for 3 years. Despite very thorough investigations including nerve blocks, x-rays and bone scans, the cause of the lameness could not be pinpointed. The limit had been reached on his insurance cover for vet's fees and his owner decided to try acupuncture as a 'last resort'. During the examination, some areas of deep-seated tension were found in the muscles of his back and hindquarters. Bouncer had acupuncture at weekly intervals and became progressively sounder. After just 6 weeks he was sound at walk, trot and canter on both reins on the lunge and under saddle. Once he was back to full fitness, he was able to resume his career as a grade B show jumper.
